No Sales to California
You may think you must do business in California to survive. Its one of the largest economies in the world. They shop on the internet more than Arkansas residents because they latch on to new ideas so fast. Now, you must rethink this and reclassify California as high risk, and the risk is not worth it.
As a small business person on the internet, you must set up places you will NOT do business with. The scams that are out there are too numerous to list, but basically you pass on all of the African continent, the old USSR countries, most of South and Central America, etc. Well now comes a new place to ban sales too: California.
Credit card fraud there is probably no worse than other parts of the U.S. so that’s not the reason. the reason is they will sue you over anything and everything. You may have never been to that corrupt state but did you know you could be sued for polluting the water? Or over the naturally occurring lead content of chocolate?

The state passes a law that says the naturally occurring levels of lead in products must now be mentioned on label in big warning letters. So you have to reprint all packaging just for one state. This will cause ALL consumers undue alarm and they will balk on purchasing your product.
If you are a very small company on the east coast, you have no idea that they passed such a law. Then the state of California sues the crap out of you. And if the state of California chooses to not sue you, a county prosecutor will. And if the county does not sue you, a “group” will sue you in the public interest.
You can’t afford to do business in California, anymore.
